VIITA Basic Personal Lines Inspector Course
Lesson #1: Personal Lines Insurance
Provides a basic understanding of personal lines insurance, including who needs it, what is covered (and not) and the rating & underwriting process, including the important role the loss control report plays in this process.
Lesson #2: Dwelling Exterior
Provides a highly visual, comprehensive look at what can be determined, including home design, construction elements, overall appearance, maintenance and potential hazards, from outside the home.
Lesson #3: Dwelling Interior
Provides a highly visual, comprehensive look at the various types of home systems, including electrical, plumbing & heating systems, as well as the common hazards & conditions, which, if unchecked, could lead to serious property and injury claims.
Lesson #4: Grounds
Provides a highly visual, comprehensive look at exposures respective of the property, at large, including outbuildings, recreational equipment, and storage areas, which, if uncontrolled, can lead to serious property and injury claims.
Lesson #5: Protection
Looks at the many ways a home can be protected from loss due to adverse weather conditions, fire and theft.
Lesson #6: Home Measurement
Details what & how to measure, while offering techniques for calculating the size of a home, including those irregularly configured and/or hard to measure.
VIITA Final Exam
On completing all lesson plans, the student will be required to take a 50-question final exam, which, on passing with a grade of 80 percent, will result in the issuance of a Certificate of Completion.
